Yvonne Walker Advances to General Election with 49.81% of Vote
Walker has commanding momentum heading into the General Election for the Retired Member Position on the CalPERS Board of Administration
Sacramento, CA – TODAY, Yvonne Walker released the following statement after securing the most votes in the primary election to represent retirees on the CalPERS Board of Administration.
“I am honored and grateful to have the trust, confidence and support of so many of my fellow CalPERS retirees. This election is about protecting the pensions and benefits that our retirees have earned from years of hard work serving the people of California. I have dedicated my life to fighting for retirement security and looking forward to more conversations with retirees about my campaign and how we can solve the problems we face.”
Yvonne Walker has served California and this nation for more than 35 years, working as SEIU Local 1000 President, retirement security advocate, state worker, and Marine Corps veteran.
